I am interested in taking flight lessons. I live in the North Dallas Area, south of I-635. I have a few questions regarding flight training in the Dallas Area.

What is a good and reputable flight school, ideally at ADS since it is fairly close? Also, I am leaning on a Part 61 program. I am thinking of American Flyers, Clear Star, Above it All Aviation, and Sprynx Aviation. I have read good and bad experiences about American Flyers from other posts, but I haven't read anything about the other 3.

Who is good AME for the medical examination? I am considering Dr. Kenneth Cooper because he is close, but I would appreciate to learn about any good AMEs in the area too!

Is there a place where I can try on different headsets before buying? I found the Addison Pilot Shop, but I am unsure whether you can test the headsets out first.

Any suggestions and input is appreciated! Thank you!

If you haven't already, try a more US-centric website:

I know a good instructor just south of Denton, so I think roughly in the area you are describing. Mike Farlow. I'll message you his telephone number.

I just texted Mike. He's in exactly the right area for you. And I've messaged you his number.
