How come several posts, in different forums are showning 0 views yet have replies to them?

Is this a pprune problem or mine?

Capt. PPRuNe has added a hack to save server load. Views are still recorded but stored in a temporary memory heap and updated in batches when certain triggers are set off.

Saves about 80 to 90% of most disk writes of which the thread views are the most common thereby easing server load.

wdtbd Since this particular fix seems to have perturbed the masses (4 threads and counting), might I ask why the view count is of any interest whatsoever ? The lefthand icons indicate what's hot, so perhaps the views column could be dispensed with entirely ? Or is that not customizable (sic) ?

PaperTiger: fair point but sometimes a post will appear that contains an information note that doesn't require a response - if it has a high viewing figure you might read it.

Also from my point of view as a mod I know how busy the forum is.
