G'Day Everyone

I'm wondering what the job prospects in paradise are like.
I'm an Aussie pilot who has been flying around the "top end" (also paradise) for a couple of years. I have:
1500TT
600ME
ATPL (aussie)

I have heard of a few guys from here getting jobs in the Bahamas, Carribean and even Chille and was wondering what the prospects and requirements are. Any info would be much appreciated.

I am planning to be in South America early 2003, do you have to be on the door step to get a job????

Thanks in advance,

VneII

Well, I don't know about opportunities in Central & South America, what i do hear is that most outfits pay pilots discracefully low salaries.

In the Caribbean, opportunities sometimes pop up unexpectedly, largely due to poor forward planning and last minute scrambling for crew.

During times of normal growth or replacment of attrition losses, foreigners have little chance of getting in as there are enough low time locals looking for a chance and many have connections.

But hey, if you don't try you're not going to succeed.

Good luck
