A historical one at South Grafton, NSW, Australia, reported in the Sydney Morning Herald, 6 September 1937. Does anyone have any idea what the aircraft type might have been?

And although the Aussie Grafton is a long way from Scotland, I wonder if the Alex Mackie in question could have been the same one who was shot down in Malta in 1942, or just a coincidence with the names?

G'day AnotherFSO. I believe it's the home-built Shipman Monoplane No.2

Coincidence. The Oz Mackie was an electrical contractor from South Grafton and had recently completed his A-Licence. Both Shipman and Mackie were in Sydney during the war.
