The Berlin Airlift has long been a subject of particular interest to me and some time ago I wrote a short story inspired by an actual event as recorded in a pilot's logbook.
I do not know how to attach documents here so have had to attach a link to a local aviation website I am a member of.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it!

I am not sure if the link works but it is also on the Military Aviation forum under Silent Night - a short story

Another tale inspired partly by the Berlin Aircraft is 'Chalk and Cheese' by Julien Evans.

At the 50th anniversary a C-54 is filmed landing at Tempelhof (https://www.steemrok.com/berlin/berlin43.wmv). One of the observers notes: 'He's coming in quite low!'

Here's an article written just over 10 years ago for readers whose knowledge of aviation matters was limited.
