Many of you may be aware that Gordon died recently, very shortly after a diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumour. He was a stalwart of the SH Force - mainly Wessex - in the ‘70s and ‘80s and was also subsequently CFI at Shawbury.

The Commemoration of his life will be on 28th December, and I’ve been honoured to be asked - in advance by Gordon himself - to say a few words about his flying career.

I have plenty of “dits” in my head, but there’s always room for more!

Please PM me with any - family friendly please! - tales to contend for a place in the eulogy.

Many thanks

And RIP mate - Blue Skies ……..

Sad to hear he has gone, I remember him as an instructor whilst serving on 240 OCU.

Very sad news. Gordon was my first Instructor...indeed I may even have been his first student...Whirlwinds at Shawbury. We had just completed Ground School at Tern Hill before everything went to Shawbury.
Happy Days; and grateful thanks, Gordon, for laying the foundations of my Rotary career. RIP.
