Looking at doing some flying in USA next year. Not having much luck finding a company to insure me for the trip. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers

You might try AOPA (US version). I know they have partnerships with a few insurance outfits, offering owners, renters, life policies, etc. Though you might have to be a member.

What is the FBO provided insurance like?

They offer liability with a deductible. The issue is i cant find any company to insure you for medical costs etc. Flying as crew is excluded in every aussie and overseas policy i have found

Try Covermore. They have a policy for so-called risky activities, such as skiing. I got insurance to ride a high powered motorcycle and sail in Europe. I did have a claim on hire car excess (rock fell on car in mountains) and they paid without any problems. Flying light aircraft isn’t all that risky in the USA - you have a greater chance of being shot in the shopping mall.
