Avalon's history

Has anyone ever written a comprehensive history of Avalon? A book perhaps? I haven't been able to find anything so far.

What I'm hoping might exist, is a really comprehensive history that goes into detail about the various characters, companies and activities at Avalon from day one. No luck so far.
