I am an EASA fATPL holder and I’m hoping to gain a UK fATPL alongside that. My original exams towards my EASA licence were completed post Brexit. I understand this means that all 13 exams will need to be re completed under the CAA.

I can’t seem to get a complete answer from either the CAA or from a UK ATO as to whether I would also have to redo the 600ish hours of ground school. The EASA conversion link on the CAA website simply states ground training “as determined by ATO”.

My original theory studies were completed at a dual accredited ATO so I’m hoping that a course completion certificate can just be reissued under the CAA ATO number and I can thereafter take the exams.

Does anyone have any experience of this path or a greater understanding of the regulations surrounding this? Thanks in advance!

Get in contact with an ATO like Bristol Ground School and they should be able to tell you

That's what we would do, as a dual school ourselves.
