Moderator, my virus protection (AVG) informs me, that this website is contaminated with a phishing virus. Apart from the message, which says, that the offending site has been closed, there are no further problems and I can continue to read the threads. Other sites, that I visit from my pc do not show these messages, only PPR uNe does. My pc functions normally. I hope, that I am not at fault here.

this should be in Prune Problems and Queries

I've never seen any such messages but then I don't click on any of the ads - some of which look very odd

AVG isn't complaining on my PC.

I use Avast One and also get the message warning of URL/phishing with the reference cimg9.ibsrv.net

I am getting it too. Something is not right. PPrune ilfiltrated by "non aviators?"

Or paranoia.

Using a Google search, cimg9.ibsrv.net seems to be a regular presence on fora, apparently associated with posted images.

Same here from Avast Webshield:
Threat secured. We've safely aborted connection with cimg9.lbsrv.net because it was infected with URL:Phishing.

Should I report this as to Avast as a Webshield false negative or is there really a threat?
The website is functioning normally despite the warning.

If the website is working, what do you gain? Worst case it's a false positive and you won't see an advert. Best case it's protected you from being scammed out of some money.

Thanks, Abrahn. If I report it as false to Avast I won't have to see it flashing up every time I swap Pprune forum pages. :)
I don't see adverts because they're blocked by another programme.

Meh, Firefox and privacy badger. No problem, no adds.

My scanning program is telling me it is saving me from a virus every time I open a "Jetblast" page.

Aha, I am not the only one, so I need not to question my IQ. Hope the moderators can solve this irritating thing.

Cautionary note !!
My last three attempts to view entries on this thread (https://www.pprune.org/jet-blast/634174-friday-memes-cartoons-part-1-a-30.html)have triggered warnings from my AV checker (Avast) advising of 'phishing' content.

A few years ago Avast was found to be selling user's browsing histories. I believe they've stopped since then:

Avast is collecting its users' browsing histories and selling the data to third parties, according to a joint investigation by PCMag (https://www.pcmag.com/news/the-cost-of-avasts-free-antivirus-companies-can-spy-on-your-clicks) and Motherboard (https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/qjdkq7/avast-antivirus-sells-user-browsing-data-investigation). This is just the latest example of free antivirus software harvesting data. After all, that free antivirus has to make money somehow.

Update: On January 30, 2020, Avast announced (https://techcrunch.com/2020/01/30/avast-shuts-down-marketing-analytics-subsidiary-jumpshot-amid-controversy-over-selling-user-data/) it will shut down to its Jumpshot subsidiary, which sold its users' browser histories to marketers.

FYI, this is a problem for IB tech to resolve, nothing to do with moderators.

Thank you for the screenshot! I will report this to our ads department. Bascially it's a malicious ad, as Abrahn noted

Yes - just tried all the usual threads and no warnings. Have you dismissed/cancelled the warnings - could these be old ones still there?

Hi Lew
Yep had closed off the AVG warnings - but noted that the next time when I logged in and scrolled down a couple of threads - no warnings thus far so hopefully IB tech have sorted.

cheers/regards LR

AVG/Avast messed up and erroneously marked IB sites as dangerous, it turns out
