This may be of interest and worth delving into.

How many aviation related photo's there are is unknown, but, it would be reasonable to assume numerous, hence my post.

My late Mum, bless her, remembered Old Trafford being bombed....difficult to miss as she lived on a side road off the main road to the ground.

Agreed - the view of Altrincham and Hale appears to be centered on the house where I grew up!

The story I heard, as I child, of a newly built road being used to store military vehicles and tanks is confirmed by this picture.:ok:

Now known as Shaftesbury Avenue....alas, the above may be a myth given tanks were built in Broadheath and there was plenty of space, then, to store and transport them...another myth is that it was an emergency runway for RAF Ringway.

Would be interested in seeing this photo if you have a reference page please.

Click on this link to get the UK map and Navigate to the highlighted square over Alty. Took me a moment to work out the picture is South up with the canal at Broadheath at the bottom and Hale at the top.

You can spot AGS and Shaftesbury Ave with the military trucks etc visible..
