Young person wants to learn to fly (for pleasure) on a trainer that was at least built this century, or better still in the last decade. I am struggling to help him find a flying club/school within 100 miles of London that actually has a young fleet. Any recommendations please?

SEMET at Blackbushe have 2x DA40 as well as some PA28 with a modern cockpit fit. They also have more advanced types if desired and offer a wide range of training options.

Most part 141 flight schools over here are using diamonds or Cirruses.
The pilots that they produce aren’t as good (in my opinion, as a presumably disinterested observer) as the independent guys that do it in Cessnas, pipers, or (especially) beech sport iterations

I'd recommend not being so picky!

Thanks to all who have made recommendations. Don't think I would have found them so easily. Much appreciated.
