been a brutal year so far with 2 ground crew lost and now a brother pilot.. be safe all... :(:(

I have been monitoring the Casper Creek wildfire on Anderson Lake in BC. Our cabin, at McGillivray Falls is a few kilometers from the fire. Resources are scarce because of the number of fires in BC, but the two helicopters that are assigned to us are doing magnificent work. I am in awe at the ability of these pilots to drop buckets of water with pinpoint accuracy in just the right place. There are 4 high power transmission lines that straddle the fire. Dangling a bucket from a wire in these conditions shows extreme bravery and skill. Hats off to these wonderful people.
