Exxon Mobil contract - helicopters inbound to PNG

Two AS332L2 Super Puma Helicopters are due to arrive in PNG for the Exxon Mobil contracts.

The two previous H47, Boeing Vertol's are otherwise engaged in firefighting ops in Turkey.

Various fixed wing operators are making fleet changes to meet contract requirements...

Are they a replacement for the Mi-8s, Chinooks and Vertols?

They can lift 5 tonne on the hook I believe, not sure how they perform in ISA + 20 and high altitude conditions.

Sounds like Juha is about to ramp up.

See they have a Herc up there at the moment.

Two Boeing BV107's (H46) of Columbia Helicopters inbound to PNG for contract work. Due in PNG on Friday 25th Aug.

N168CH and N190CH. The H46 model is slightly smaller than the previously operated H47's?
