Class 1 Lapse < 5 Years

I've seen a few older posts but just wanted clarification if anyone is able to provide it.

I had a Class 1 medical which expired and became a Class 2 - itself due to expire next year.

I was wondering if an AME is able to issue a Class 1 renewal (prior to the Class 2 expiring of course) or if it would require a trip down to London to an AMC?

You should be good to go. Maybe a couple of extra items, but nothing too onerous. Contact an AME for guidance. UK or EASA.
