A Pentagon study has found high rates of cancer among military pilots and, for the first time, shows that ground crews who fuel, maintain and launch those aircraft are also getting sick

wow, this is a Pentagon study that's been made public? wouldn't civilian aircrews (pilots cabin crews, and fuel and maintenance crews) be equally susceptible?
thats alarming, hopefully it doesnt have an impact on enlistments and retention.

The RAAF had a big problem 20 years after getting mechanics inside the fuel tanks of the F-111s to clean the walls with chemicals.

And in the civilian world, an airline pilot friend did his PhD on the effects of cosmic radiation on high-altitude aircrew. Passengers to a much lesser extent.
