I've been asked a question by an unlicenced aircraft engineer that I know and I have no idea of the answer so I was hoping someone on here could advise me.

Basically, he is currently studying for his Pt66 B2 licence and probably won't complete this until sometime towards the end of next year and the manager at the company he is working for has hinted that they want to send him on a manufacturers type course so that when he does get his licence, he can immediately apply for a type rating and get company approval.

I was wondering how long from completion a type course is valid for. I've had a look at the CAA website but couldn't see anything on there regarding the validity period for type courses.

Three years rings a bell. Assuming the UK CAA is continuing to follow EASA guidelines.
