Just come in, Sydney airport control tower full of smoke causing an effective airport shut down. No takeoffs and planes landing diverted to alternate airports.

although looking at Flightradar24 it appears planes are indeed both landing and taking off now.

Just another day in 3rd world Aus aviation

or maybe aviation generally.

US nationwide shutdown due NOTAM computer failure, Multiple German ATC "technical failures" last year causing delays and cancellations across Europe, Sydney shutdown for an hour on a sunday due to smoke alarm.

Clearly the fault of QANTAS sending their maintenance overseas.

Only if the reports said the tower was "FORCED" to close and that Pilots of inbound aircraft were "BRACING" for a diversion and that it was a smoke "EVENT" that "COMES AFTER" blah, blah.......
