I am looking for some information on the Gold Fish Club. I believe it is for all service men who have survived a ditch into water. I am looking for some info for my grandfather who ditched into the Channel whilst flying for 233 squadron in WW2. Any help would be most grateful.

I think this may have been run by one of the inflatable liferaft companies and a small lapel badge was awarded to anyone who could show that they had used an inflatable in anger. I knew an old guy who had ditched a beaufort off Cyprus but he sadly died a few years back so I can't ask him.

If no one else has a better suggestion then I would say you should contact Avon and Beaufort who make this kind of kit and see if they can help.

"The lapel badge isn't for me, it's for my Grandfather." :D

Take a look at the thread on Aircraft History and Nostalgia. It is about the Goldfish club.

I will close this thread.
