TypeError: array_map(): Argument #2 ($array) must be of type array, bool given in ..../products/travel-spam-tools/lib/class_travel_spam_tools.php on line 291

When I try to reply to posts.
Can anyone tell me why & what it means?

php is a form of programming language and it appears that some input to the class_travelspam_tools.php. It could originate most anywhere.

Do you use a javascript blocker? javascript and php often coordinate to build the local picture of the web page.

I've got into a spot of bother with the moderators because of this, I was trying to edit and repost after correcting a typo and got a very similar message, which then resulted in that message being removed for a time as the moderator thought that I was being mischievous, when in reality I wasn't. It has just happened again, when replying to this thread: https://www.pprune.org/jet-blast/650202-viktor-out.html The previous time was editing a typo in a thread in the Mil Aviation section. This is the message that has just appeared:

"TypeError: array_map(): Argument #2 ($array) must be of type array, bool given in ..../products/travel-spam-tools/lib/class_travel_spam_tools.php on line 291"

I have copied this to Senior Pilot , as he is aware of the issue and suggested I copy it here if it happened again (as it just has).

If it helps, this occurs on both Windows laptop and a Macbook Air. Both are up to date, the Macbook updated to the latest version just a couple of days ago.

I've tried two desktops, Macbook Air (Safari and Firefox) PC (Firefox, and Pale Moon). All are the same.

It it helps I have found a work around. The problem seems to always relate to quoted posts, delete the quote in the text and the problem seems to go away.

Using quotes pasted into the "Post Quick Reply", "Go Advanced" or the yellow "Quick Reply" button at the lower left of the page seems to cause the problem from time to time, whereas using the "Quick Reply" button to the right of the "Quote" and "Multi Quote" buttons hasn't yet ever caused this to happen for me.

The key seems to be quotes, from what I can see, though. I'm afraid I'm not very computer literate, so can't help much further.

Thank you, we deployed the fix to the non-live site, so we're going to check it there before rolling it out on the live site

This still happens from time to time, but I have found a work around that seems to work every time I've tried it so far. the work around is this:

Quote the message you want to specifically reply for as usual. Type the reply below the quoted message (i.e. below the text that appears between quote tags, the bits in square brackets).

Select the text between the quote tags (including the tags themselves, the bits in square brackets) and cut that bit out using the cut function in whatever device you're using.

Leave your reply text in the box and post it, and wait for it to post and appear.

Select edit on your new post, and paste in the previously cut text with the quoted post and tags. above your own reply text

Post again and all will be well.

So far this has worked like a charm for me every time, but obviously isn't proof that it's a fix or proper workaround, I may just have got lucky half a dozen times!

Getting the same message whenever I use “reply to thread” button, regardless if I’m quoting or not.

The above message is the first time I’ve been able to post in a week, will now try the thread where I originally had the issue posting and see what happens.

This issue should be fixed. If anyone is still experiencing it, let me know.
