This seems a strange sequence of events...

Alarming that they were under-taking aeros so low and close to a residential area.

The collision.
Thought when I originally followed Less Hair's link there was a video which I can't see now showing what happened immediately before the collision shown in my Twitter link. The two aircraft pulled up into a half loop then flew inverted off the top before the lead/left hand aircraft appears to start barrel rolling around the other aircraft. Was that the intention, was he going to join up erect underneath for mirror, or was the roll unintentional? Speed certainly seems very slow...

A bit like the Mig29 collision at Fairford but in slow motion. Looked like one aircraft got sucked toward the other. Got caught in the slipstream perhaps?

Looked to me as if the barrel rolling Zlin attempted to switch to the other side of the other Zlin. I have seen it done before, but never from inverted.

I think the rolling Zlin was possibly rolling to go over the inverted one for a double inverted pass, but was too far forward. One would only know the intention if any `sequence cards remained`,or a video of previous displays become available....Sad day....

Very sad indeed .I did not know the 2 pilots personally but was parked besides them last August in EDAJ and took a look at their beautiful Zlins. I wonder why neither of them use their parachute,. they have them in the Zlin and the height at which the collision occurred should have been ok., at least for one of them in case the cockpit of the second one was hit during the collision. RIP.

In post #6, about 1 second into the video, is that black smoke trailing from the lower aircraft or is it just a trick of the camera and clouds?
