Hello everyone,

i have a question regarding the EASA CPL. I am a bit confused regarding my situation as different aviation schools answer me different things. Currently i have the PPL, Night Rating and ATPL theory. Its 36 months credit expires in 4 months, so it's logical to do both the IR and CPL before January. But i have some financial problems at the moment, and i have decided to get only the CPL before the theory credit expires, so i would do the IR the next year with no rush. Is it possible? or in order to get the CPL without theory the IR is also needed? Thank you in advance!

You can use the theory credits for CPL, or IR or both.

Doing the CPL only is an option, albeit a strange option as the IR requires fewer hours than the CPL and should therefore be done first. Technically you could do the CPL then the IR via CBIR at a later date and still get an airline job (the ATPL exams are required for first MP TR but I don't think there's an expiry date for that purpose)
