Flying before/after Queen's Funeral

I'm aware the UK's residents have a variety of views on royalty and the Queen. However, I suspect many (but not all) will want to be in the UK on the day of her funeral - somewhere around Monday 19 September.
What happens to those with booked air tickets or package holidays, which involves being outside the UK on 19 September ?
Do airlines insist on contract being followed, make short term cash but annoy people ? Allow people to defer travel, leaving potentially empty aircraft in the next 10 days ? Something else ?

A proportion of the travelling public may may wish to change their plans, but I think the chances of the airlines waiving booking conditions are vanishingly small.

Incidentally, I'll expect the funeral to be a day or two later than Monday week, given that two weekends intervene.
