Rider was killed

Samchui.com reports that there were two people on the bike, both died.

Is riding a motorcycle on an active runway in the same direction of an A320 on final a new pastime of thrill seekers bored with surfing trains?

Or is this an anomalous incident involving unfortunate ground crew being in the wrong place at the wrong time in a part of the world where motorcycles are used by staff to transit from place to place around an aerodrome?

Edit: Never mind. The answer appeared in the link provided by nonsense in #3
."The driver identified was a security agent, an employee of a company in charge of protecting the airport facilities.".

Quite common in Africa ( and in most of the world until the 1980s,) to releive the security guards at the perimeter duting night shifts using a vehicle or some kind .and crossing the runway to get there was never considered an issue . You have bad luck sometimes., such as poor vsibility, did not see the landing lights , wearing headphones , etc.. .TIA .

I find it hard to imagine that you wouldn’t hear or at least see an A320 on a runway. I suppose with earplugs, those Neo engines would be a lot quieter, but with the LED lights on, it’d be like daylight as the plane approached.

A320 on idle, against the noise a loud motocycle and with eaphones and music on ? no way . Or they tought they could cross before the jet misjudging the speed. Ever crossed a main street a night in an African capital ? :E

That said if it was indeed a premeditated stunt to make a buzz, , then Darwin has worked well.
