Hi there. Looking for any recommendations for FAA Class 1 Medical AME in Japan. I checked the FAA website, saw a handful of options scattered around Japan.
But wondering if anyone got recommendations. Thanks!

Sorry for the intrusion. What about EASA class 1 in Japan? I haven’t been able to find anywhere to renew it, any info?

You can't do any member state's EASA Class 1 outside member states. Back in the day when UK was still EASA you could get your UKCAA (EASA) Class 1 renewed in numerous places outside but not since Brexit.

I should correct myself: you can still renew UK Class 1 outside the UK however it's not EASA anymore.

...mmm... you can't do any member's state EASA Class 1 outside member states? You can still do EASA Class I under French EASA with Dr. Sagoo in KL, and Medora in Singapore. Or maybe I have understood you wrong?

Then I'm wrong. When i did my research on the subject couple of years ago there were none except in some of the overseas territories of member states. You could do French, Dutch, UK (in HK, Singapore too), etc. for example in some of the Caribbean territories and so on.

You can renew an EASA medical anywhere in the world as long as the Doctor is EASA approved.
Did mine several times in Barhein and Switzerland, no issues.

You guys realize that there is no such thing as a "EASA medical", right? There are Swiss, French, Romanian, Dutch, amd another 20 odd etc. medicals which are all EASA member states. So your medical will say French, Swiss, Dutch, Icelandic, etc. according to EASA part MED. So as doctors: they are not EASA approved, but approved by the Slovak, Czech, Polish, Austrian, etc. Civil Aviation Authorities to issue their respective Class 1/2/3 renewals which are according to EASA PART MED.

Can we just keep calling it "EASA medical"? It is much shorter than your formal definition.

Kikuchi-san is a GREAT Doc for FAA and JCAB checks if your Japanese Carrier will allow him to do your check... Easy access at HND JAL terminal...
