Had an interesting experience trying to use this app today for the first time . E mail from BA said that I should download the app and complete my Vaccine status prior to on line check in.
App installed etc but it does not accept my booking reference as one part of the journey is not supported. This is I presume the internal flight from JNB to Windhoek with another airline .
Checked my booking reference on the BA site and it stated that I should bring all my documents etc to the check in desk. Getting a bit confused, I called the BA help line and they couldn't offer any help etc with the app and said I should just take all my documents to the airport " IF" online check in is not possible.
I wait with bated breath for the online check in to open tomorrow................................

It is one of the most useless and pointless apps out there. Anything other than absolutely straight forward and routine, it spits the dummy. If you can get stuff uploaded, great.
If not, go old school and have every thing with you. If you have access to a desk top computer, you "might" be more successful uploading the docs there.
The check in staff are used to people not being able to get every thing uploaded. Having every thing printed is easier than having to find the PDF on your phone. Although, I would have both "just in case".

In late March I found that VeriFly only accepted one of us. The LHR T5 agent was not surprised when I handed over the paperwork! For vaccination, they want to see the NHS app on your phone - because you could have forged the print out. Of course, you could have forged the image displayed on the screen of your phone too! My partner could not get data access whilst standing at the check-in. So I had to make a HotSpot on my phone for her to connect. We then had to repeat that the next morning in JNB.

Whenever I travel, I always print flight confirmation, car hire, hotel bookings the lot. At the end of the trip it goes in the recycle bin.

Was forced into using it last Christmas to fly to Denver with BA. It was hardly intuitive but eventually I managed to load our "fit to fly" Covid tests. A few days before flying back from Denver to LHR tried to input our return flight but was told this flight has been completed and cannot be accessed.

OK so tried to create a new flight but the app said I couldn't because it will only allow flights originating from LHR.

The check-in staff at Denver took it entirely in their stride and ignored it altogether and acted as though it was a bad joke that management were trying to play on us all.

Don't even start me on trying to get a "fit to fly" test in Colorado Springs.

Verifly sort of worked when we flew to Texas with BA in March, in that it happily accepted our photos, ESTA stuff, fit-to-fly results, etc.

But it resolutely refused to talk to the BA system in order to let us check in online after doing all the above. The check in kiosk at T5 worked OK, though.

When I flew BA in June no verifly app was needed.

A friend going out from LHR T5 on Friday: "BA email told me to download Verifly. But I could not get it to accept my vaccination. It wanted to offer me seat change bookings etc. But I can see no practical use for it. I have my NHS app."

I suggested that she print everything!

What’s the point in it anyway? Is it protecting the passenger? Is it protecting other passengers? Its a joke.

My friend got through T5 departures without Verifly.
