Friends of mine who live close to Exeter Aiport have seen several RAF heavies (C130s?) flying into and out of the airport during the last week and wondered what might be going on. Just training or some operation? Somethng similar took place in 2020 they say, and then it was connected with the pandemic.

The Atlas, Hercules, C-17, Merlin and Wildcat are (and have been for many years) regular users of Exeter Airport for training.
Devon Live usually get very excited and breathlessly report on giant RAF aircraft soaring (sic) over the county.

Perhaps the small size of our armed forces these days makes such events more noticeable.

During lockdown, RAF training made good use of some airfields normally relatively unburdened by military types, I was rather entertained by an Atlas bumbling round the Biggin circuit during one of my solo exercise rambles...
