I'm looking for some information from Individuals who have flow both the 737NG and also the 737 Max. The MCAS topic has of course been Widely discussed, so I would like to leave it out of scope for this particular thread/question.

1. What improvements did the MAX bring over the NG? I would imagine fuel burn was one however, also interested in avionics, handling characteristics, auxiliary features etc.

2. In contrast, did the MAX introduce new pain points that the NG did not have?

One great improvement of the MAX over the NG is that it would alert the crew for a misconfigured press panel.
If both bleed switches are off for example, 45 sec after flap retraction following a take off or go around, it would alert the crew by illuminating both bleed lights

If you forget something as basic as the bleeds? Perhaps they want to make it easier to drive?

Don't you have an "After Take-Off" checklist?
