I've searched online with no results.

Interested in information on a P68 Partnavia possible engine issue over the Glass House Mts (QLD, Australia) on 06/05/2022 0525UTC

Watching the fight radar playback, the aircraft turned back from the Glass House Mts to YRED and descended from 1500' to approximately (500') at 95Kts. Aircraft was making a 'popping'engine backfire sound as it flew overhead.

Appears it suffered some engine issue.

Interested to know what the issue was, to cause that popping / backfiring.

Things may be different in Oz, but over here I'd have been surprised if a minor incident like that made it into the media, so I fear your search online for details will be in vain.

Yes agree. I wasn't expecting media reports, but rather incident or occurrence report submitted to the authority, some of which can be viewed online, or actual info from persons on the ground at YRED where it landed.

Perhaps the Occurrence report will show up in the near future.

I was very surprised to see a P68 flying that low over a built up area, so pulled over and got out of my car as it passed by. Certainly sounded unhappy.

That is an interesting statement and true. There are all kinds of incidents that never get investigated in the countries with larger aircraft fleets because there are so many accidents to investigate. Result: plenty of reports on accidents available from those safety boards that one can sift through to learn some good lessons.

On the other hand, if one goes to a safety board webpage for a smaller country, where accidents are fewer due to lack of aircraft, there is a tendency for detailed reports to be about some other interesting aspects that one might not get from the larger countries. Perhaps a hand-propping incident or the reasons behind a groundloop.
