The cabin crew of a Qantas A330 was made to sleep across seats in the economy cabin among customers, with an improvised blanket overhead to block out the light, according to photographs obtained by Australian Aviation.

It looks like a case of Qantas using a short-haul aircraft on long-haul flights, so there is no designated crew rest area. This is against the employment deal, so the crew complains. Qantas then uses Kiwi crews who are on a different deal.

The leprechaun gets another bonus for lateral thinking, and the Oz crews get screwed - again.

Either way, if it were a crew member sending that picture to the media, let’s hope they don’t find out who it was. They won’t be employed for much longer.

Referencing someone who has it worse than you as a means of justifying this is proof you don’t get the point. The fact that QF still want the world to believe they prioritise safety over everything else while continuing downward pressure on things like fatigue management is simply false advertising.

And it is just as unacceptable on Jetstar as it is on a Qantas aircraft. That is not a suitable rest facility for cabin crew on a 12 hour+, back of the clock sector.

No disrespect intended for the jetstar crew but wouldnt most of them be asian based crew which means they just do what theyre told & get a few bucks thrown at them.
Like somebody else said,dont justify what qf are trying to do by using the conditions imposed by another outfit on their staff.

Absolutely correct & even more true when u are dealing with a ceo whose sole ambition is to bust any union he can & has been well taught by his buddy in Willie Walsh.
