Sitting for the FRTOL Examinations, in terms of the administrative side, can i just take the written communications exam with the RT examiner? or must i book it via the UK CAA portal? i don't know how any of this works because i'm not from UK, i am converting from an EASA part FCL.

Regarding the RT Practical, i understand the reference is CAP413, however im told that there are 'scenario based' questions in addition to the simulated flight route, what does this even mean? i cant find any examples of scenario based questions for the RT practical.

please help

Hello, the FRTOL exam is practically based entirely.

You should have done an EASA version of this to gain your EASA licence. The exam itself does indeed play out as a pretend 'flight' where you will play the role of the pilot and the examiner plays the role of ATC. Your right that CAP 413 is the UK RT manual and everything you need is in there. Take a look at this guide as a bit of a shortened version of CAP 413

I'm not sure about the booking process I'm afraid.
