PIA network expansion

Pakistan International has restored several former destinations over the past few months and is to resume more plus adding some new ones:

NEW

Sydney - from 24th April
Gassim - sixth Saudi city, from 28th April
Xi'an - second Chinese city, started earlier this year
Kashgar - Cargo charter to the Chinese city with A320 "Preighter" started recently

RESUMED

Damascus - after over 20 years suspension
Najaf - Iraqi city was served for two years till 2018
Mashhad - Iranian city was suspended around five years ago
Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah - both UAE Emirates were suspended over fifteen years ago
Salalah - Omani city was suspended in 2019 after a couple years operations
Baku - suspended since over 20 years

PLANNED

Kunming, Shenzhen, Guangzhou - two new Cargo charter routes plus CAN suspended since early 1970s
Hong Kong - suspended five years ago
Bangkok - suspended since 2018
Bishkek - new
Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent - two new cities in Uzbekistan plus TAS which has been suspended since over 18 years
Maldives - suspended since 10 years or more
Baghdad - suspended since 30 years
Abha - new Saudi city
Istanbul - suspended since 10 years

Some rather dodgy arms smuggling routes among them, and playing Iran against Saudi will lead to no good

Sydney didnt happen as Australia is reviewing the case though having granted permission.

PIA has now started Chengdu twice a week serivice, third destination in China.
