Over the past few days there has been a number of Russian aircraft squawking 7700, which is noteably more than there was prior to airspace restrictions. Is there a reason for this? Bingo fuel maybe? I find it hard to image there are that many medical emergencies.

Perhaps a way of getting around the restrictions that UK/EU member states have put on them?

I cannot post on R&N for some long ago perceived infraction but the thread about suspending Russian aircraft CofAs includes references to the many Russian leased aircrafted with Bermuda Registrations.

The Bermuda Government suspended the Airworthiness certificate of all Russian operated aircraft on their register yesterday so perhaps somone can pass that bit of news on to the original thread, and its the Bermudian Government , they get very upset if people leave out the letter I

I think it's a fuel thingAs they seem to be flying four times as far and not wanting to enter a holding pattern when they arrive .
