I have seen a few clouded responses on this from searching so looking for a bit more clarity.
What is the deal with with regard to my first type rating, from what I can see my MEIR needs to be valid to start the TR however my MEP class rating can be lapsed?

Does the validity need to be valid throughout the TR and for the LST/licence issue?

This is for UK CAA if that helps!

From an FCL point of view, neither your IR or MEP need to be current. The operator may impose other requirements.
