On one side the people are trying to be very helpful and work really hard for this, on the other some of the rules are severely illogical and antagonistic.

Better pattern is to fly nearby with 2 crew and rest On the second day crew B makes the China turnaround, staying airside, and fully rested crew A then brings the plane back home from the mid-station.

To add to FlightDetent's comments: unlike other countries, you should not expect any special treatment if you arrive as foreign crew into China during the pandemic. Anything more than a turnaround and you can expect the full quarantine, isolation and testing requirements as set by the local CDC: 14+7, 14+7+7, 21+7 days, or worse. This is why some airlines have resorted to staging via nearby hubs to avoid their crews being trapped here for extended periods.

Arrivals from HK are treated like any other international arrival, with full quarantine required. Quarantine-free entry from Macau is possible, but you must enter Macau and complete their quarantine and testing requirements first... so practically there's no real benefit there, unless you are based in Macau.

I am led to believe the touch-rest-and-go will normally require only the 14 days centralised quarantine, then you can leave.

As well, there may be some special provisons, thinking here about the Lufthansa group who seem to rest 24 hours with aircraft on the ground and then fly back. At least at Shanghai.

While their partner LOT is notorious for returning empty for covid crew.

Send the B crew in advance and have them do the 14 days, assuming they don't bring the pest.

Logic was a European concept, most probably developed by the Greeks. You don't realise it most of the time but if you were brought up and educated in a western system you were taught logic. If this, then that. If not this, then not that etc.

The only place you find Aristotelian login in HKG/China is in western educated people.

As a mentor cautioned me because of my western education when I arrived in Hong Kong, "Never ask the reason 'Why' in Hong Kong. The answer will drive you crazy"

Back to the thread, but my two cents says that there is no way that you will be able to leave the aircraft on arrival in China for crew rest to operate a flight later. Try your countries CAA for a dispensation to take crew rest on the aircraft on the ground if you are really desperate, but you are grasping at straws here.
