The lady passenger didn't let go of the camera to give him a hand.

A friend of my wife was killed doing this, to assist a solo P/G launching in windy conditions. He fell about 200'.

People do it with balloons as well, trying to hold onto the basket. Resist the temptation to hold it down.

I'm guessing that scenario didn't come up in her pre-flight briefing.

There's sickening footage of a US Airship lifting several 'sailors' who didn't let go off the ground and into the air. One of the them was able to tie himself to his rope; the others fell to their death.

This clip on the other hand has a happy ending.

This paragliding clip on the other hand has a happy ending. Someone who wasn't attached to the paraglider when he should have been.
