Akasa Air is an Indian low-cost (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-cost_carrier) airline headquartered in the city of Mumbai, India. It is backed by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rakesh_Jhunjhunwala).

It is aiming to start flights in late May or early June after getting its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in April. In the first 18 months, it will serve domestic routes with a focus on metro to tier-2 cities and, thereafter, expand to international destinations.
