Renew U.K. medical at EASA AME.

Does anyone know if you can renew your U.K. medical at a EASA AME ? Considering they have open for license transfers out this year , anyone got any experience with that?

I tried phoning and before I did my class 1 they said that would work, now they’re saying it don’t…
