Many years ago (8+) I converted my Japanese ATPL w/ B767 type rating to a JAA ATPL issued by the UK CAA. Since I was not actively using it, I never converted it to an EASA ATPL and now I’m not really sure what needs to be done to make it current. I reading the documents on the CAA website, I have not been able to find anything that talks about what to do with a JAA certificate so would anyone have any suggestions or if its even possible to get it current without doing the whole process over?

Thanks.

What are you looking to achieve with your UK licence? In general, you can convert an existing UK or JAR licence using SRG1104 available here (https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?catid=1&pagetype=65&appid=11&mode=detail&id=452).

Further to the above - you're out of luck with regards to an EASA licence at the 8 year point, you'll need to take the ATPL exams again. You might be able to get the UK one, then wait and see what the next few years brings.
