Hi!

Is anyone proceeding with China Cargo Airlines (referring to the subsidiary of China Eastern, not China Airlines Cargo) for the 777 with Reverse basing in FRA/AMS, in my case through CAE.
I have been invited to an online interview with the airline, and yes I am fully aware of the hassle to go to China for the assessment.

What's the general perception of CCA, pros/cons? Perhaps someone working for them already is willing to share some information.

TIA!

HELLO PANDA
Greetings, I have been invited for the same assessment, but nothing done yet. How is your experience?
I guess I will be going through in the next weeks. how many pilots do they need?

HI Leftseatdriver!

Had an online interview last week with representatives from Fleet and Training. I got word Friday that that was successful so next step is preparing for travel to China for assessment. How about you?

Taiwan or China??:E But both have Captain emperor status:}.. don't sit or go through the door first before the Captain emperor otherwise you get a failure in check.. or the most horrible flight:mad:.

I applied, current on B777 right seat. But no response from CAE.

Things will go at a low pace in China, VISA Sponsoring letters and QUA then screening, not so fast pace, so will take it easy.

Well CCA is a mainland China airline (PVG) so I don't think I have to worry about that.

I'll wait until they remove this STUPID 3-4 weeks quarantine requirements.
Not worthy wasting thousands of dollars for this BS.

I am also considering this. What makes you say "WORST ENVIRONMENT EVER"?

Any genuine insight gratefully received

How was the interview? I just got email for a web interview. Thank you.

It was really short, like 10 minutes. No technical questions, nothing about the company or what might be your motivation to join etc. Quick introduction of yourself. Basically they were telling you that the initial period to stay in Shanghai would be like 9-12 months and due to covid restrictions you can expect to stay in quarantine (14-21 days?) after some of the flights... and if are you happy with that? Also they were asking if I've been operating B777 from the left seat. I really didn't know what they were meaning by that since I'm an F/O. The only answer that I gave them was that yes, sometimes during the cruise phase if it was a 3 man crew (1 CAPT and 2 F/O) After a day or two I got the feedback that I wasn't approved by them because they want F/Os who can pass the CAAC sim check from the left seat as well. Was like hmm ok :)

Anyway this was around 6 months ago. No need to stress about the interview.

Good luck.

12 months in shanghai for license conversion? Even with 3 man crew, there are 2 Capt and 1 FO here. I’m just a regular FO, not a cruise capt. So I guess I won’t be approved too. Thank you very much.
