Has anyone else heard that the SOCs and SOC+ people laid off October 2020 are being called back?

If you don’t have a PR, then I wish you luck my friend

I’m still working.. just heard something about that. I mean most of them don’t have pr but at least they have experience and know how to fly an airplane unlike some.

And I do know that a few of them do have dependency visas so they should be entitled to work without sponsorship from the company.

Hmm seems that "locals/cadets dont know how to fly" saying is back in town again.
but who cares, Chinese gov want their people - Chinese locals.

What are you even saying? Please properly share your mental model.

Sadly dependant visa or not CX doesn’t care, it’s PR or nothing at this stage. Timeline for non-PR’s is Q2/3 next year if rumours hold true.

I'm a PR and I was told Q2/3 as well.

Grateful..

Cathay are only concerned for inducted PR’s at this stage. For the rest of you non type rated/non-PR’s I wish you luck because I can’t see 2022 being your year, we’re stacked with SO’s.

The governments tight grip on VISA’s will be Cathay’s continuous issue.

That's okay. I have a pretty good job now and honestly it has more future than being a pilot.
