Hi, I have an address for PAL can anyone tell me if it's still open please?

Room 3508, 10 South Wing Office, Heathrow Terminal 3, Hounslow, TW6 1JH

If it's not does anyone know where is open as I'm looking at court action regarding refusal to refund monies.

Paid with various methods. PayPal, some credit card, some debit card.

So have you tried Chargeback on the debit card transactions ? and Section 75 of the CCA for the credit card transactions ? You'd have to research it yourself, but I have a feeling that using PayPal as an intermediary invalidates using Section 75 on the credit card it ends up on, but as PayPal is regulated as a bank in the UK, there may be other options.

I had the same problem with Lufthansa in the end HSBC credit card claimed the money back

I think County Court, eventually becoming an arrest of an A350 at Heathrow is a much more fun way to go about reclaiming the money

Cymmon - would recommend sending 2 separate letters to the address mentioned above (one of which should involve special delivery) and spelling out that you are giving seven calendars notice prior to applying to courts. It is after all the address listed at Companies House, so harder to argue with on technicalities in court.

Getting a judgement is one thing, getting the offender to pay up is another ...

I used PayPal too, that's why I'm trying to find the address. It has to go to court.

Before you go to the hassle and expense of doing it yourself I would suggest you look up Bott and Co of Wilmslow, Cheshire who are experts in this field.

We always buy airline tickets with credit cards,when Untied Airlines refused our refunds a couple of years ago we eventually just contacted the credit card and they sorted it quickly for us.

Philippine Airlines are notorious for taking forever to process refunds, it took me six months to get my money back from them a few years ago. Due to the current financial state of the airline I would look at whoever you paid through as your best bet. Otherwise you may be just another unsecured creditor in a company undergoing bankruptcy restructuring.

According to the Companies House website, their UK address is listed as Room 3508 10 South Wing Office Terminal 3, Hounslow, Heathrow, TW6 1JH. All companies registered in the UK must have a registered address and they are supposed to list their principal officer, which Philippine Airlines does not. Their BR number is 000740. Interestingly the last change of address was "Details changed for a UK establishment - BR000740 Address Change Aviareps house gatwick road, crawley, west sussex, RH10 9RB, 25 April 2017" four years ago.

So sending the registered letter to this address is the first stage, presumably to tell them that you are about to serve them a Statuary Demand and see if anything happens.

It must have been around 2017 that PAL had their ban lifted and they recommenced operations to/from UK, that would logically explain why they moved from reps to having their own set-up on the ground at LHR whilst a web search identifies one individual as being, or been, their LHR station manager.

This refund, or refunds, isn't so straightforward as some may be thinking, there are a few tickets due for refund, as an example just one of these was when their airport staff refused to accept that I had prepaid PHP250.00 for excess baggage and charged me a further PHP2,120.00 for the same excess baggage, PAL agreed to refund to source of payment all relevant tickets, except one, but no refunds have been forthcoming whilst two of these payments were cash over the counter, talk can be cheap whilst often detectable that someone is lying because their mouth moves.

It is only £35.00 to sue them thru MCOL, and a further £35.00 court hearing charge, and if they don't respond then send the bailiffs in to their offices except that doesn't work if their offices aren't there or are stripped bare since PAL curtailed UK operations soon after covid broke out. I'm tempted to take it thru a no win, no fee, lawyer but trying to explain the complexities of this, of things said, of one argument at an airport check-in, of all communications etc. to perhaps an overworked and underpaid lawyer and/or assistant the saying that if you want something done properly then do it yourself remains paramount in my thoughts.

So still trying to establish if their registered office at LHR is real and worth sending the bailiffs in to.

Forgive me for being impertinent, but is the amount owed worth the hassle all told ? I'm assuming it is, but we're all different and many times acting on principle doesn't add up in terms of money and time.

It might be worth checking that the South Wing T3 offices are landside and not airside if there's a chance that bailiffs might get involved.

I was based in that building for a bit, many years ago, at which time anyone could walk in, but I know it's had several makeovers since then.

Obviously unaware if you have travelled during these recent times, I certainly have, and the tourism industry is suffering, taking months and months to refund whilst utilising our monies to pay their staff salaries and bills, refusing to refund for flights they cancelled and only offering voucher codes, I've recently won an otherwise refused refund from an airline in excess of £500 through my card issuer and even then it took around four months to achieve, I'm currently pursuing another hospitality industry provider and thereafter there is a travel agent on my waitlist of things to do.

The OP didn't suggest that his/her claim was for just the one example provided, indeed to the contrary he/she said that there are a few tickets and refunds involved, are you suggesting that we should all sit back and let these crooks cheat us of our hard-earned monies?

I have travelled in the last 2 years, but way down on before. I have also had to get back money paid to airlines. One completely ignored all requests for a refund, the other gave me charming diversionary offerings despite taking my bank details several times to 'refund' the money to my bank. I gained satisfaction after a year (due to optimistically waiting) through the credit card company.

For lesser amounts, which of course depends on one's circumstances, there is a point where the effort to reclaim what is rightfully yours outweighs the amount. By rights there should be a ring-fenced/escrowesque fund within each airline to protect customer's money when services offered and paid for do not materialise.

It would be interesting to have a list of which airlines refunded their customers within a reasonable time, and which ones are failing in their duty to give money back when the service paid for wasn't provided

This would be useful to reference against when making future bookings.

Expedia / TAP are refusing to issue a refund for 2 tickets i had with them for May 2020 saying that as it is over 2 years since i booked them. At no point did expedia tell me there was an expiry date to the flight credits and i suspect TAP did not tell them either.

On 30th January 2020 I purchased a return ticket online for my son with Philippine Airlines LHR-MNL-LHR at a cost of £828.81 using an Amex Card.
He was due to fly out of LHR in August 2020 but due to Covid, the flight was cancelled and he applied for the "offered voucher" hoping to travel at a later date.
He was unable to use this voucher prior to its expiry date of August 2021 due to the Philippine government's Covid regulations in relation to foreign nationals making him a "persona non grata".
We were given the "run-around" and all sorts of excuses by Philippine Airlines ticketing staff in the interim period and were unable to get an "extended voucher", which wouldn't have helped anyway because the Philippine government travel regulations regarding Covid still precluded the entry of tourists into the Philippines.
Fast forward to the present day, after many requests to resolve the matter, I have requested a full refund as per my original ticket contract but this has been refused because, you guessed it, the voucher validity period had lapsed.
To make matters worse, although I do have all my Amex card statements on file and can locate this transaction, it is no longer possible to query the transaction with Amex as their "actionable" on-line records only go back to June 2020.
I am currently dealing with their [email protected] public relations department in an attempt to break the "voucher expired" repetitive "fob off" reply from their other departments.
As far as I know, it is still not possible for a tourist to book a PAL flight from LHR-MNL-LHR as they are now citing "financial reasons" for flight unavailability.
And I thought Dick Turpin was dead.
