Does anyone know how viable it would be to try and get one of the ex RAAF PC9s on the Civil Register?
They have had Auctions on batches in the past few years, and from what I see, most have gone to the US and SA, but none have been (re)registered in Australia.
Apparently they are listed as 'unserviceable' at time of auction due to the military paperwork ie CAMM2

A quote from the last auction...
"Military aircraft are not registered with CASA and are being sold on an ""As Is, Where Is"" basis with no CoA, CoR or MR.
All maintenance logged in CAMM2.
CAMM2 data support unavailable after purchase."

Prior to the auction, log data is available, but apparently isn't linked to the unit after sale.
For instance, one unit listed as
"Configuration: Tandem Pilot/Co Pilot,TTIS: 7481.4, Landings: 14827, Starts: 4433, Tail Number: A23-063, Category: Military, Engine Make: Pratt & Whitney, Model: PT6A-62, Serial No: PCE103123, Engine Hours: 7481.4, TBO: 1520.5, Propeller: HARTZELL 4 Blade TBO: 5648.4, Unserviceable, Transport Cradle included."

So, there is some info prior to sale, but not being a LAME, I'm uncertain if CASA would recognise and reconcile the maintenance logs/data for Civil use.
Can anyone provide any insight on the process of putting one on the Australian register in say Experimental category?
...or would this just be too difficult, given the paperwork deficiencies.

Cheers

There's one at Moorabbin that looks like it's being readied for flight at some stage...
