Well, taken the plunge now, decided on BAE for AbInitio.Due to start in April.

I am a little on the older side and can just about remember my times tables.

Anyone any suggestion on swatting up so that I might be able to demonstrate a little of the inteligence that I know I have somewhere up top. I find I like Videos and Interactive CD Roms - don't know if that says anything about me or not.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You could start learning the morse code, it may cut out some time during your course.

Good luck, VFE.

Cheers VFE

Took me a couple of minutes to be sure there wasn't any sarchasm linked to my age there.(I thought that Morse was a thing of the past)

Appreciate your input, it is all these little tit bits of advice that go a long way.

A good tip is to go to WHSmiths and get hold of the GCSE maths course book, that will help when it comes to the Nav subjects.

BAE publish a list of recommended pre study for the course:

Trigonometry & Triangles
Vector Triangles
Angles within circles
Properties of circles
Geometrical relations
Interpolation
Transposition of formulae
Arithmetic skills
Mental arithmetic
Ability to read graphs
Basic magnetism
Basic Electrics
Understanding of power, work, energy and moments of force.

Try and get yourself a basic maths & physics book. Also Mechanics of flight by AC Kermode.

Wish I knew what all that stuff was so I could join you :)

Good Luck
