Did Singapore every take on any Aussie pilots for F/O's apart from their "internal" QF style cadetship.

What is it like to work for SQ as an Expat in Singapore?

If you are an F/O intending to join SQ don.t bother.
You will be needed but not wanted.

Promotion is racial.
1.Singapore Chinese.
2.Singapore Malay-- Indian
3 Malay Chinese
4 Malay
5 Others.

You will be in the others catagory, and by the time your turn comes up in your intake , the next intake my arrive on the scene and you are defered.
Some people have held out and made command but it is a long grind.
Check the enormous bond for each type and you may not want to take the punt.
There are many other cultural and professional problems too numerous to mention here.

Downwind, the above is pretty negative, if you would like a more enlightend opinion try Hugh Clarke at [ [email protected]]
Hugh stayed the distance and finally made command.
