EZY8095 2021-07-27 Police requested on arrival

EZY8095 LGW-VAR 2021-07-27 I heard one of the flight crew on LiveATC asking for police to meet their arrival at the stand at VAR.

My other half was on this flight and she says she didn't see or hear anything. One of her neighbours said it was something to do with a passenger.

Was anyone else on this flight who can shed more light on what happened?

It is possible that the Pax concerned did not know anything about it until the moment they reached the front door of the aircraft!

Police on arrival doesn't necessarily mean a passenger has been disruptive. The crew could have spotted something suspicious and wanted to keep it quiet or Someone could have contacted the crew discretely and advised them of an issue that the crew then felt the police needed to address on arrival, for example.

Jeez, I’m glad I don’t do the job anymore when any T,D or H. can listen in to private security r/t.
Anyway, what happened to Company frequencies ?
I know that during the 70s I had a lot of occasions to make various comments involving police, SB or Border force .
I wouldn’t have wanted anyone listening in to those. :rolleyes:

That's a good point, surely such communications are confidential ? What right do LiveATC have to broadcast such transmissions ? I realise that it's not as if everyone is waiting, listening, ready to pounce on every transmission, but if it's illegal to broadcast a private business phone call, surely a transmission should be the same.

Considering crew request them then I’m sure they do know. You are thinking of something slightly different.

It’s correct that it’s not always a disruptive passenger that prompts a police response. It could be something such as suspicious use of a credit card right down to suspicions about human trafficking which crew are given awareness about these days.

I'm pretty sure people were listening in the 1970s. After all, it wasn't - and still isn't - very difficult.

Liveatc.net have just made it possible to listen to anywhere in the world* from anywhere with an Internet connection.

*Liveatc.net will only provide feeds from countries where it is not illegal to listen to aviation frequencies. That is why they have no feed from the UK, Germany etc.
