BAe announced today a further £250m from HMG for further development of the new fighter. Also announced that the planned in service date as 2035.

BAe announced today a further £250m from HMG for further development of the new fighter. Also announced that the planned in service date as 2035.

At 250MM pounds/yr till 2035, we're getting close to 4B pounds just for the development, even before factoring in the hard stuff like the software.
Seems a 100MM pound fighter in the making. How many can HMG afford?

It’s already a multinational programme with three full partners (UK, Sweden, Italy) with Japan collaborating on next generation high power radar and EW systems.
