Hello,

I'm wondering if in 1905 the Wright Brothers were able to take off with the Flyer III without using a catapult and assuming the wind was calm. I think they would be able to do so, as long as density altitude was under a reasonable condition. I also think the question was not if the plane would be able to take off at all, but if it would be able to do so with the amount of track they were using (perhaps a larger track would be needed). What are your thoughts about this?
