Not a particularly exciting topic I know but a colleague of mine is travelling with Britannia next week and asked me if the headset sockets for the seats are all standard. He has some Air 2000 headphones and wants to know if these will be usable on the flight.

Cheers

I've only seen two types.

The single metal prong similar to regular headphones and a plastic molded double prong. It will depend upon which aircraft you are flying as to which will be in the seats, 50% chance.

Departures Beckham is right, there are two common types, which are single pin mini jack stereo and double pin mini jack stereo. Now, the clever one is JMC which on the aircraft fitted with double pin connectors offer to sell you a single pin adapter so that it fits your walkman.

Headsets are free on Britannia.

If you want to be really cheap and you have a seat with the two molded plastic inlets, you can always raise your arm rest to head height and turn the volume up. If you've got good hearing you'll be fine.
