There seems to be complete silence in relation to the Airservices proposal to lower Class E airspace on the east coast between Cairns and Melbourne.

Initially the proposal was to bring the airspace predominantly down to 1,500 feet AGL. I understand that was then changed to the latest proposal, which brings the Class E airspace down to 8,500 feet, 6,500 feet or 4,500 feet AMSL (depending on terrain).

All of this was supposed to be introduced in December of this year, but there seems to be silence.

Can anyone give an update?

Since when has CASA ever considered the "Real" cost?

Since when anything CASA has done brought any "Real" benefit?

Since when has CASA decided anything that was beneficial to CASA was not worth it?

It is NOT CASA, but AirServices that made that proposal. Yes, it’s the CASA responsibility to approve it, but it seems AirServices have withdrawn into the back room over this proposal post all the Flack they got after the initial proposal. My guess is that it is not going to happen except at or around some busy locations. Nothing this year due required lead time.
